Ulu Ventures provides early-stage investments in enterprise SaaS, smart data, companies. A seed-stage venture firm focused primarily on enterprise IT, Ulu focuses on the market opportunity created by the Stanford and Silicon Valley communities. Ulu generates financial results using a disciplined, repeatable decision-making process that analyzes risk-reward trade-offs. Ulu follows logical principles of portfolio construction given its pure-play seed strategy. This approach makes the firm conventional in the world of institutional investors but contrarian as compared to many VCs. Ulu`s goal is to be a top quartile fund consistenly, on a fund over fund basis. In 2008, Miriam Rivera and Clint Korver established the firm in Palo Alto, California. The GPs have both been startup founders, have tech industry experience in companies from formation stage to joining Google as employee 160 and negotiating and closing deals that helped it grow from $85m to $10B in revenue. Both have served as trustees of higher education and foundation endowments valued from $1B to $16B
