Since 1985, the Northwest Entrepreneurial Network (NWEN) has been the hive of the Pacific Northwest entrepreneurial community. The organization is fueled by the energy and passion of almost 800 members, who come together to connect, learn and share via an annual roster of more than 60 events. By offering a community to rely on and educational offerings geared towards the specialized needs of the entrepreneur, NWEN helps its members find the funding and resources they need to make their business goals a reality.

As a non-profit organization, NWEN relies heavily on the generosity and support given by its members and generous local sponsors. The organization has two full-time staff members — Executive Director Dan Rossi and Assistant Director Caitlin Goetze — and an active Board of Directors.

Northwest Entrepreneur Network

The Health Enterprise Development Initiative (HEDI) is a training program for entrepreneurs creating companies fostering healthy eating, active living, and other missions promoting health for consumers, suppliers, and communities. HEDI is a collaboration between the Bainbridge Graduate Institute, Public Health Seattle King County, Slow Money

Northwest, Kick (the “inclusive” incubator), and GPS Capital Partners.

The HEDI program is an enterprise accelerator that meets in-person four times across 11 weeks, and online weekly in the intermediate weeks. This is a “hybrid” structure that combines online and in-person learning, similar in structure to the Hybrid MBA offered by the Bainbridge Graduate Institute (BGI).

The application process for HEDI’s first session is open to any non-profit or for-profit enterprise meeting the mission of promoting healthy local food systems. The ideal enterprise has either launched a product or service and is working toward their revenue goals, or is an established enterprise with a track record of success and that is trying to see if their new idea is worth pursuing. For this round the perfect candidate is offering a product or service that benefits both a low income consumer and a local farmer or food producer. Four to six enterprises will be invited to participate.
